Bloom Farms And Magnolia Wellness Donate $25,000 To Fire-Ravaged Californians

Bloom Farms™, a San Francisco based medical cannabis company, has partnered with Magnolia Wellness, an Oakland dispensary, and raised $25,000 this past holiday season for Calaveras County Butte fire relief efforts. On Friday, March 4, 2016, Bloom Farms Director Michael Ray made the donation at The Resource Connection in San Andreas to the following organizations focused on post-event recovery and supporting affiliated local nonprofits:

  • Mountain Ranch Fire Relief Fund ($10,000 to support individual and emergency family needs)

  • CalaverasGROWN ($5,000 to support soil erosion prevention efforts)

  • Mountain Ranch Resource Center ($5,000 to support local community feeding program)

  • The Resource Connection ($5,000 to support countywide food insecurity efforts)

Although President Obama has not given any official indication, a leading official with the U.S. State Department seems confident that prohibition may become unhinged at some point in 2016 and lead to the possible decriminalization of all illegal drugs across the globe.

On Tuesday, William Brownfield, Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, told reporters that U.S. officials are currently at the drawing board in an attempt to draft an all-powerful piece of documentation — what he calls a “pragmatic reform agenda” — that they intend to present at the upcoming United Nations General Assembly Special Session (UNGASS) on drugs next month in New York City.

Is it time for football to reconsider marijuana?

(CNN)The NFL and the NFL Players Association have a staunch policy prohibiting marijuana use, but some players are asking them to reconsider it, saying pot can be used for pain relief, and possibly as concussion prevention.

If you play professional football, "your job automatically gives you the symptom of chronic pain," said Baltimore Ravens offensive tackle Eugene Monroe, who has played in the NFL since 2009. "You're hitting each other as hard as possible every single day in practice. Your body is in pain a lot of time."

More and more players are looking to marijuana for pain relief, he said, despite risking punishment from the NFL.
