Attend the NCIA Seed to Sale Show in Denver!

Next week cannabis industry professionals and hopefuls have the opportunity to attend the National Cannabis Industry Association’s (NCIA)  Seed to Sale Show in Denver.  This show is the only national show focused solely on innovative best practices, science, and cutting edge technology in cultivation, processing, and sales strategies.  Attendees will have the chance to learn about the latest innovations behind growing, extracting, infusing, marketing & retailing.

The event takes place January 31st-February 1st and will be the largest business to business (B2B) event in Denver.  Over 2,000 of the nation’s leading cultivators, dispensary operators, extraction artists, ancillary product providers and infused product manufacturers will convene to discuss best practices, present case studies, and share information about the science and emerging technology surrounding the whole life cycle of the cannabis plant grown, processed, and sold in a regulated market.

What’s Happening in Arizona? A Lot of Weed is Being Smoked, That’s What…

Arizona’s more than 122,007 medical marijuana patients smoked, ate or otherwise consumed more than 29 tons of cannabis in 2016.

Thankfully, broke it down for us: 29 tons of weed is more than half of a fully loaded tractor-trailer.

Okay, you haven’t seen too many tractor trails lately?

How about this? The equivalent in weight of 29 tons of pot is more than 58,600 bags of Oreos.

The total breaks down to about 27 tons of buds and another couple of tons of edibles and concentrates like wax, shatter and hash oil, according to the Phoenix New Times.

This amount of MMJ sold last year represents a 52 percent increase in legal pot sold in Arizona in 2015—the amount of which was twice as much as 2014.

Man Given Death Sentence for Selling Weed

Southeast Asian governments have the toughest drug laws on the planet. But a death sentence for selling weed?

Thankfully Jeff Sessions, Trump’s choice for attorney general, forgot that he too  once proposed executing pot dealers. Whew.

In Myanmar, vegetable seller, Nur Alam Mohd Hussain, was recently sentenced to death for trafficking cannabis. The 29-year-old was found guilty on the basis of for possessing five pounds of weed, which in his trial he called “fictitious.”

Hussain was arrested last November carrying two envelopes given to him by a third person. When the police surrounded him at a gas station, he dropped the envelopes and ran, later saying he didn’t know what was in them but had assumed they were stolen car parts.
