Would You Support A Plan to Legalize Medical Marijuana in Georgia?

According to a press release from James Bell, the director for Georgia Campaign for Access, Reform and Education (Georgia C.A.R.E.), Georgia activists believe the state of Georgia is ready to consider legislation allowing for medical marijuana.
“We believe the people of Georgia will support our efforts to allow patients with serious medical conditions to use marijuana under doctor’s supervision. We’re ready to take our plan to state lawmakers”, Bell said. “In 1980 Georgia was one of the first states in the nation to pass a compassionate medical marijuana law. We believe Georgia lawmakers are no less compassionate today. We should not treat patients like criminals.”
In a seven page report, Georgia C.A.R.E. gave the following outline on how to remove criminal penalties and allow doctors to provide for a safe, legal source of medical marijuana.

New Jersey Gov. Christie Will Allow Medical Marijuana For Sick Kids
Category: Medical Marijuana | Posted on Sat, August, 17th 2013 by THCFinder
N.J. Gov. Chris Christie agreed Friday to ease access to medical marijuana for chronically ill children. The governor offered provisions to a bill allowing marijuana cultivators to produce more than three strains of the drug and for state-approved dispensaries to sell ingestible forms of pot for children to consume.
According to Christie’s tweaks in the bill:
“Qualified minors should be allowed access to products in appropriate edible forms to ensure that children can receive treatments consistent with their age and medical needs, as well as the individual preferences of their guardians.
As I have repeatedly noted, I believe that parents, and not government regulators, are best suited to decide how to care for their children.”
He conditionally vetoed an existing bill, leaving one provision which requires referrals from a pediatrician as well as from a psychiatrist. A third doctor’s approval is required if the pediatrician is unregistered with the medical marijuana program.

First medical marijuana dispensary opens in Yuma
Category: Dispensaries | Posted on Sat, August, 17th 2013 by THCFinder
Yuma’s first medical marijuana dispensary had a “soft opening” Wednesday.
Jamestown Center, located at 4104 E. 32nd St., is a state-approved medical cannabis dispensary.
"We are excited to be the first dispensary in Yuma County to receive approval to operate from Arizona Department of Health Services," said Susan H., the center’s general manager. She declined to provide her last name.
Jamestown Center offers eight strains of medical marijuana to patients in Yuma and the surrounding communities.
The dispensary, which took its name from the 1619 law requiring all Jamestown, Va., colony farmers to grown hemp, is staffed by three pharmacists and a biochemist. It will serve qualifying patients with medical marijuana cards issued by the state of Arizona. The law allows patients to have 2½ ounces of medical marijuana every 14 days.
The center has a medical director who will work “one-on-one” with patients to match conditions and symptoms with the appropriate cannabis strain. However, the medical director is not authorized to prescribe medical marijuana to clients.
“He’s only here to supervise employees and educate patients about health concerns, dosage and recommend routes of administration,” explained Susan H.
The medical director will also monitor patients’ side effects.
