New Poll has Massachusetts’ Cannabis Legalization Initiative Winning this November

With less than two months before election day in November, a new WBUR/MassINC poll has found that Massachusetts voters are prepared to pass Question 4 to legalize cannabis.

According to the poll, 50% of voters in the state plan to vote “Yes” on Question 4, with 45% planning to vote “No”. Just 5% remain undecided.

According to the poll, 80% of voters feel that even if they don’t support legalizing cannabis, they don’t believe that consuming it is “morally wrong”. Just 14% do, with 6% undecided.

An authoritative report done by the Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR) into northern California’s pot-growing area has uncovered dozens of accounts of sexual abuse and exploitation of workers known as “trimmigrants,” or bud trimmers.

Students from Humboldt State University, and others, reported being forced to give their bosses blow-jobs to get paid or being offered higher wages if they trim topless.

Amy Jarose, an experienced trimmigrant in the region, told investigative journalists that when a grower she was working for in the mountains began to pressure her for sex, she immediately left without her pay.

Opioid use decreases in US states that legalize medical marijuana

New research shows a decline in the use of opioid painkillers in US states that allow people to treat pain with medical marijuana, affirming the fears of Big Pharma who have been vigorously seeking to frustrate efforts to legalize the herb.

Columbia University researchers examined data from 1999 to 2013 and found an association between a state legalizing medical marijuana and a reduction in testing positive for opioids after dying in a car accident, particularly among drivers aged 21 to 40.
