Deleware Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Calls For The End Of Cannabis Prohibition

Category: Politics | Posted on Sun, June, 26th 2016 by THCFinder

delaware marijuanaOut of Delaware:

Yesterday, state senator and Republican gubernatorial candidate Colin Bonini, publically stated he would sponsor a bill to tax and regulate the marijuana, a move that would make Delaware the first state in the nation to do so legislatively. This signals that the tide is shifting away from the failed policy of prohibition and toward a new, sensible way forward. Now is the time to tell your senator and representative that you agree with Sen. Bonini and ask them to support this responsible policy.

His statements came during a debate on a HB 332, a bill sponsored by Rep. Helene Keeley (D) that adds misdemeanor possession and marijuana paraphernalia possession to the list of violations that are eligible for probation before judgment, strengthening the state’s existing decriminalization program. HB 332 has now passed both chambers and hopefully will soon be signed by Gov. Jack Markell.

With the 2016 legislative session nearing its close, it’s very unlikely that a bill to regulate marijuana could pass this year. But with elections coming up, now is the time to let your state lawmakers know it’s time to end the prohibition of a substance that is safer than alcohol. Before you go, give your friends and family the opportunity to take action, too. Together we can forge a better path forward.

Category: News | Posted on Sun, June, 26th 2016 by THCFinder

Toronto police raided more cannabis dispensaries on Thursday—a sequel to last month's "Project Claudia." Raids were reported on the Cannabis Culture and Canna Clinic dispensaries, both in the herb-friendly Yonge Street area.

Police Chief Mark Saunders told reporters that he believed search warrants were executed at four locations. Cannabis Culture is run by Canada's crusading activist couple Marc and Jody Emery, who had voiced defiance after the May raids.

"We refuse to be bullied by police and unjust, harmful, discriminatory law enforcement," Marc Emery stated at the time

Starbuds loses license for Denver marijuana grow in first decision of its kind

Category: Medical Marijuana | Posted on Sat, June, 25th 2016 by THCFinder

Neighborhood push-back against a northeast Denver marijuana grow operation culminated Thursday in the city’s first-ever denial of a routine cultivation license renewal.

Starbuds, a marijuana chain that grows plants on the second floor of its recreational shop at 4690 Brighton Blvd., plans to appeal the decision by Stacie Loucks, the executive director of the Denver Department of Excise and Licenses. In her decision, Loucks agrees with a hearing officer’s earlier findings that the grow operation’s odors and other effects conflict with a new aspirational neighborhood plan for working-class Elyria-Swansea.
