In addition to the election of a new mayor next week, voters will also be deciding the future of medical marijuana dispensaries in Los Angeles.
Measure D, Measure E, and Measure F have all been competing to set the rules for medical marijuana dispensaries, including how many will be allowed, where they will be allowed to locate, as well as what regulations they have to adhere to.
Los Angeles City Councilman, Bill Rosendahl, has surfaced as the leading force behind the campaign to pass Measure-D.
Rosendahl is a cancer survivor, and greatly credits medical marijuana with helping him to recover.

NSW Okays Use of Medical Marijuana for Cancer, AIDS Patients

Category: Medical Marijuana | Posted on Sat, May, 18th 2013 by THCFinder
The New South Wales Parliamentary Committee recommended the approval of medical marijuana for state residents suffering from cancer, AIDS or other end-stage ailments. The proposed law would allow patients to possess and use up to 15 grammes of cannabis.
However, people with these ailments and their carers must produce a certificate from a specialist and register with the state Department of Health to be issued an identification card with photo.
Despite the committee's recommendation, NSW Acting Health Minister Kevin Humphries said the state would proceed with caution due to failure of previous similar proposals due to difficulty in sourcing marijuana since its importation is still illegal under commonwealth law while NSW has no plans to cultivate the weed.
The recommendation is supported by several parties, including the Liberal, National, Labor, Greens and Shooters.
Committee member Adam Searle said that while issues often divide Australian politicians, in the case of medical marijuana, they set their differences aside to help alleviate human suffering.

Poll: 78% Of Kentuckians Support Medical Marijuana

Category: Medical Marijuana | Posted on Fri, May, 17th 2013 by THCFinder
According the latest Kentucky Health Issues Poll, 78% of Kentuckians support the legalization of medical marijuana, and 25% say they would be okay with regulating recreational use as well. Only 38% oppose any form of legalization.
Proponents were split when it came to legislative action. Almost half thought the decision should be left up to voters, 23% thought state legislators should change the law, and another 23% believed ending prohibition was the job of the federal government.
Citizens of Kentucky will be happy to know that State Senator Perry Clark (D-Louisville) has been tireless in his push to introduce medical marijuana legislation; unfortunately, his bill has yet to receive a hearing.
