The Federal Government Really Hates Cannabis
For the land of the free, America has a decent amount of rules set in place when it comes to cannabis. These days, you can't even admit to smoking weed at the Canadian border without being barred from the states, regardless of the fact that there may not be any cannabis present in the car or the person's system at the time. Not only that but the war between state and federal law is ever so much closer to boiling over with the recent raids on medical dispensaries in Colorado.
Grow Laws; In the US according to federal law, less than fifty plants will get you put in jail for up to 5 years, as well as slap you with a fine of $250,000. This includes growing only a single cannabis plant. 50-99 plants will earn you 20 years and a $1 million fine and it just gets worse from there. Considering that there are two states that have legalized cannabis, the federal government should eliminate their extreme penalties for simply farming.
Possession Laws; Carrying any amount of marijuana will automatically get you $1,000 fine and incarceration of up to a year. That's for the first offense. The second offense will get you a minimum of 15 days but no maximum. If you do get caught this second time, you also should expect to get fined $2,500. The third time (and any time after that), you can get 90 days to 3 years... Possibly more. The fine for this is $5,000.
Selling Laws; Basically, no matter what amount you sell, you're going away for at least five years. This law is extremely strict. The NORML website stated that for less than 50 kg of marijuana, it is a felony, five years in prison, and a fine of $250,000. 50 kg translates in to a bit more than 1700 ounces. That's a lot of marijuana. So even the sale of a single gram can get you five years according the federal law.
There are places where the rules are even more strict but the difference is that those places aren't actively searching for cannabis users and are usually paying attention to more pressing matters. It's also an extremely unfair case in the US due to the legalization of the plant in two states and more than a couple towns across the country. While there are some that say "state law is always trumped by federal law", one must counter reply with "democracy trumps federal law". The people have voted to be allowed to use cannabis, whether or not it's for medical reasons. The laws on cannabis are far too strict and need to be reevaluated to reflect the votes of the people.
Cannabis May Prevent Erectile Dysfunction Caused By High Cholesterol
Category: Medical Marijuana | Posted on Mon, December, 9th 2013 by THCFinder
An interesting new study published by the journal Clinicaland Developmental Immunology and the National Institute of Health has found that activation of the body’s cannabinoid receptors - something done naturally by cannabis – can actually reduce the risk of erectile dysfunction in those with hypercholesterolemia. According to the study’s researchers, hypercholesterolemia (which is the presence of high levels of cholesterol in the blood) is “one of the most important risk factors for erectile dysfunction, mostly due to the impairment of oxidative stress and endothelial function in the penis”.
After studying the effects of cannabinoid receptor activation on mice with high cholesterol, researchers found that; “CB2 activation decreased histological features, which were associated with erectile dysfunction in hypercholesterolemic mice.”
According to the study’s lead researcher, these results have important implications that could lead to cannabinoids and cannabis being used to treat erectile dysfunction, which effects over 30 million Americans.
The Woes Of Buying From Street Dealers
Not everyone has a dispensary in their city... Or anywhere near them for that matter. So these stoners have to resort to other ways of getting their bud and most of the times, that's a street dealer. While there may be some people who enjoy getting their weed from a street dealer, the cons definitely outweigh the pros. There are hundreds of jokes about the unreliability of the street dealer, from the time they get you the weed to the strain name. And of course, everything in between.
The male marijuana street dealer always seems to have a problem with time. He says he's ten minutes from your place, when in reality, he's sitting in the drive through at McDonald's. These dudes can also be extremely awkward to be around, depending on their level of arrogance. For some reason, the male street dealer always seems to think that they're a bigger deal than Pablo Escobar. This effects the way that they treat their customers, sometimes being far more rude than necessary. It's also odd when he pulls up to your chosen meeting place with other people in the car that you don't know. Not only are you being forced to buy bud illegally, you're doing in front of who knows who. The last worst part of the male dealer is if you happen to be female. Occasionally, if a girl is forced to buy from an unfamiliar guy, there may be other consequences. I bought weed from this 19 year old kid once because I was incredibly desperate and he called me for weeks afterwards, to the point where I thought I would have to change my number. Dealer turned stalker!
The female street dealer can be a huge pain. If you've ever gotten a bag of weed from a chick and tried to smoke it, only to find out that it tastes like Abercrombie perfume is a huge letdown. Unfortunately, this happens far too often. If not caught in time, the perfume can permeate the entire bag of weed, rendering the bud awful tasting and basically useless. Another issue with the female street dealer is the fact that they tend to chat a lot, meaning that buying weed becomes an hour long endeavor, possibly even longer! Although, there are plenty of people who enjoy buying weed from a cute girl, so I suppose that most could probably tolerate the perfume and the talking. Female dealers also tend to be a lot more harsh than males, especially when it comes to exact weight and fronting. A girl has to protect her business by being smart, especially when the cannabis game is so primarily populated by males.
Buying weed should be an easy process, much like buying cigarettes. If stoners could just walk in to a gas station and buy a pack of joints, life would be far more simple. Instead, those that are still in illegal states have no choice but to deal with the street dealers. Even though there are plenty of issues when buying weed this way, stoners want to smoke as much as fish want to swim. Whether you're buying from a dispensary or from someone on the street, happy smoking!

More Smokers Leading To Less Failed Drug Tests?
Employee drug testing is a huge issue in the cannabis community right now. Since the laws are changing, it's hard to imagine employers still trying to test for THC, especially in a legal or medical state. If the law and your doctor say you can smoke, but you can't get a job because the hiring party tests for THC? Smokers don't even get a chance to prove their worth. They're eliminated as soon as they fail the test. But oddly enough, as more people start to smoke pot and be open about their choice to do so, the rate of failed drug tests is falling.
The American medical testing company, Quest Diagnostics, analyzed the results of drug testing only to discover that those testing positive for marijuana has fallen under 2%. This study was based on millions of drug tests, submitted to the company by employers. Results show a steady decline in positive marijuana test results over the past ten years. Granted, the rate was at 3% in 2002, it's strange that there would be a decrease... Or stoners have just outsmarted the test. Considering that there are so many people smoking these days, I'd say that we've outsmarted employers for sure.
Declining positive test results is happening for a few reasons. One would be the fact that most people are aware of what companies and jobs call for the pre employment drug test. If the smoker is aware that the test is coming, they can refrain from smoking. This method isn't always the most assuring, since THC can sit in fat cells for months. While some continuous smokers can manage to pass a drug test within two weeks of stopping their smoking, not everyone is as lucky and some people fail months down the road.
There's also the ways that stoners have thought of to pass a drug test. This include using synthetic urine, detox drinks, and a non-smokers urine. These methods are the most reliable, with the exception of the detox drinks. Faking it is probably the best method that stoners have come up with in order to pass the tests. With so many easy ways advertised to help you pass, more smokers are resorting to this way of passing than any other.
