Tommy Chong: 'Whitney Houston should have stuck to marijuana'

Tommy Chong has suggested that Whitney Houston would still be alive if she had only smoked marijuana.

Houston admitted to abusing cocaine and other drugs in the years before her death and prescription drugs were reportedly found in the hotel room where she passed away on Saturday (February 11).

The LA Coroner's Office has cautioned that it will wait until toxicology tests are completed before announcing if drugs played a role in Houston's death.

Chong - a noted marijuana advocate - has commented on Houston's death and suggested that switching from pot to harder drugs led to the singer's downfall.

"Had she just stuck to pot, she'd be alive today. It's when you get into that other stuff [that trouble starts]," the actor told Access Hollywood.

"The trouble with that other stuff is that you forget you're high," the Cheech & Chong star added. "You think you're taking a bath and you're not. You're under the water. It's a sad, sad thing."

Arizona Dispensaries could start applying as soon as April!

Medical marijuana patients may soon available for medical marijuana pateints waiting patiently for their meds in Arizona.

This week, the Arizona Department of Health Services is putting the finishing touches on the revised rules for medical marijuana dispensary applicants.

Once ADHS finishes writing that rule package, it will go to the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, which will file the rule package with the Secretary of State.

At that point, ADHS Director Will Humble said he will set the date for when ADHS will begin accepting dispensary applications. He said he expects that date to be sometime in April.

State health officials are revising rules for the dispensary application after federal court judge Susan Bolton required ADHS to change its dispensary selection criteria last month.
