Help Veterans By Asking Congress To End The VA Medical Marijuana ‘Gag Order’

Category: Medical Marijuana | Posted on Tue, May, 17th 2016 by THCFinder

ptsd second amendment military veteran cannabis marijuanaOur military veterans served out country proudly, and they should be able to have access to medicine that works. Below is a federal alert that I received. Please participate and help out our veterans:

The United States House of Representatives will vote on a spending amendment this week that would remove the unfair Veterans Administration ‘gag order’ on physicians recommending, or even discussing, medical marijuana use with their patients in states where it is legal. This policy prevents a veteran’s VA doctor from having full and frank conversations about the potential benefits and risks of medical marijuana use, while creating additional and unnecessary barriers to accessing medical marijuana for our men and women who have served this country.

Ask your representative to end this cruel and illogical policy by supporting the Blumenauer/Heck amendment to H.R. 2029 today!

Offered by Reps. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) and Joe Heck (R-NV), this amendment would prohibit the VA from spending any money to prevent their practitioners from talking about medical marijuana use with or filling out recommendation forms for their patients. The VA already allows patients to use medical marijuana in accordance with state law. It is simply bad medicine to prevent doctors from talking to their patients about it, and it is time for it to change.

Category: Medical Marijuana | Posted on Tue, May, 17th 2016 by THCFinder

Louisiana is now poised to become the twenty-fifth state in the nation to legalize a comprehensive medical marijuana program.

On Monday, the Louisiana Senate voted in concurrence with the House regarding a measure (Senate Bill 271) aimed at creating a functional medical marijuana law out of legislation that has been on the books for around four decades. The proposal is now on its way to the desk of Governor John Bel Edwards, where the word on the street is that he will sign it into law without hesitation.

Pittsburgh NORML Responds To Media Reefer Madness Hysteria Over Cannabis Concentrates

Category: News | Posted on Mon, May, 16th 2016 by THCFinder

Reefer MadnessIt is with utter dismay that we awakened this morning to salacious reports from WPXI about a dangerous “new” form of marijuana that has arrived in Pittsburgh. WPXI seeks to warn us of the “dangers” of hash oil concentrates, also know as “wax”, “oil” “shatter” and “butter.” The alleged journalists at WPXI would have us believe that the risks from making and consuming hash oil concentrates are the latest “crisis” to afflict our region.

Simply stated, this is absurd “reefer madness” nonsense. Hash oil concentrates have been safely produced and used for decades. Hash oil concentrates are safely produced and sold for both recreational and medicinal use in legal states. Hash oil concentrates are particularly effective for patients who need an immediate onset of medicine. Hash oil concentrates are produced utilizing a variety of extraction methods including closed loop, vacuum purged and supercritical CO2 extraction. “Solventless” hash oil concentrates are increasing in popularity and pose absolutely zero risk during the extraction process.

Pennsylvania passed a medicinal cannabis law that permits the vaporization of cannabis oil. States with effective medical cannabis programs have seen the rate of prescription opioid overdose deaths drop by over 25%. Regardless of how potent hash oil concentrates are it is still IMPOSSIBLE TO OVERDOSE FROM CANNABIS. There has never, ever, in the entire history of the human race been a cause of death attributed to “acute cannabinoid toxicity.”
