Paul McCartney may be in his 70s but the singer clearly hasn't lost his sharp wit which left audiences in stitches when he decided to halt his recent gig in the US  to admire the smell of marijuana in the air.

The former Beatles star was just one of the guests headlining the Bonnaroo music festival on Friday night in Tennessee, treating crowds to a 38-song set.

However, the 70-year-old musician brought his set to a grinding halt after getting a whiff of marijuana wafting through the crowd, according to Billboard.

And, far from condemning the use of the drug, the veteran singer used the occasion to share a joke with his fans, admitting that the fumes were pretty intense.

"That's some pretty good weed I can smell up here," he said halfway through his set, adding "Whew! What are you doing to me?"

tyra-banks-buys-cannabisTyra Banks visited a cannabis store on Saturday, and left with a brown bag.

The model was accompanied by a a more mature-looking mystery man to the shop in Venice, California.

The 39-year-old America's Next Top Model host dressed down in a hoody and jogging bottoms, as she walked out of the marijuana suppliers with her friend.

Called The Farmacy, the shop boasts a superb [range of] California grown medical cannabis, cannabis infused products, and other high quality global organic medicine.'

So Tyra may very well be checking out their organic products which are unrelated to marijuana, because the website states that 'only California residents over 18 years of age with current and valid doctor’s recommendations can interact with our cannabis department.'

However inside the store, the talk show host spent a lot of time looking around the stock, taking time to decide what she wanted before leaving the store with her friend.

STOP TOSSING BILLIONS INTO THE TAX POT TRYING TO FIGHT POT

Category: Culture | Posted on Sun, June, 16th 2013 by THCFinder
jail-for-mjJerry Duval, began serving a 10-year sentence for distributing marijuana last week. Duval has a kidney and pancreas transplant, as well as glaucoma and neuropathy. His family grew marijuana on his Michigan farm, in part to treat his ailments. Duval’s son, Jerry, was given a five-year sentence.

It will likely cost taxpayers more than a million dollars to keep Jerry Duval in jail and tend to his medical conditions, part of the soaring cost of the Obama administration’s continuing crackdown on pot growers and users.

In 2011, according to the Drug Policy Alliance, 757,969 Americans were arrested for drug violations involving marijuana, 87 percent of the arrests for mere possession.

The same day Duval reported to a federal prison, Nevasda Governor Brian Sandoval signed into law a measure that makes pot available to medical marijuana card holders in his state. The new act legalizes marijuana growers, processors and dispensaries and even allows for home-growing until 2016. Marijuana tax revenue will pay to regulate dispensaries and to support the state’s education budget.

If you consider it a gross injustice that Jerry Duval began serving a 10 year prison sentence for doing what on the same day Nevada’s governor made legal, welcome to the club. A rapidly growing club.

With Nevada, 16 states have decriminalized marijuana. In 2012, voters in Colorado and Washington state approved normalizing marijuana sales, considering them under the law little different than tobacco or alcohol. In Colorado, more voters approved legalization than those who voted to reelect President Obama, who carried the state.
