Amanda Bynes Arrested on Marijuana Charge in New York City

Former child star Amanda Bynes was arrested on Thursday evening in New York City, police confirmed to ABC News.
Bynes, 27, was charged with tampering with physical evidence, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of marijuana, NYPD spokesman Det. Brian Sessa told ABC News.
“There was a 911 call at her apartment building that someone was smoking marijuana in the lobby,” Sessa said, adding that once police arrived, a building official took them upstairs to her apartment and Bynes let them inside.
“There was a heavy smell of marijuana,” Sessa said. “[Then] she took the bong and threw it out the window.”
Bynes is still in police custody, according to Sessa.
Bynes, who has previously been charged with DUI, has displayed erratic behavior recently, tweeting provocative photos of herself and dramatically changing her look. However, just last fall, the actress told People magazine that she was “doing amazing,” and planning to launch a fashion line.

Marijuana May Help Cure PTSD
Category: Medical Marijuana | Posted on Fri, May, 24th 2013 by THCFinder
A Yale associate professor of psychiatry is giving American veterans with intractable post traumatic stress disorder the main active ingredient in marijuana as part of search for a better PTSD cure.
Former chief resident in neuropsychiatry at the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine R. Andrew Sewell said PTSD and other anxiety disorders might hinge on a defect in brain cells that the marijuana molecule, “THC”, can help alleviate.
About 7.7 million Americans suffer from PTSD, and symptoms can include flashbacks, agitation, and anxiety triggered by a trauma-related thought, word, or object. Ultimately, THC could be combined with therapy to cure PTSD, Sewell said. He presented his ongoing study in Oakland this April at the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) conference. I’ve reported on it this week for the East Bay Express.
In addition to being part of a potential cure, marijuana (aka cannabis) is already being used for PTSD symptom management by thousands of veterans, said MAPS scientist Dr. Sue Sisley.
Sewell said, “Veterans use cannabis for two reasons, one it makes them less irritable, which is really socially destructive and also it helps them sleep. Cannabis is excellent for sleep, it is much better than alcohol.”

S. Tempe medical marijuana dispensary opens
Category: Dispensaries | Posted on Fri, May, 24th 2013 by THCFinder
Medical marijuana has arrived in south Tempe- but if you’re thinking about going in, you might want to brush up on your safe-cracking skills.
Harvest of Tempe, said to be the first such dispensary in the area, has incorporated what appear to be state-of-the-art security measures, including digital cameras and thick plate-glass windows that keep customers at bay.
Since opening during the first week of May, though, no problems have been reported.
Jeanne Klotz, of Tri-City Auto Body in Mesa, recalled her worries when a marijuana dispensary opened across the street a year ago.
“We didn’t particularly want them as neighbors, but so far we’ve barely been aware they’re there,” she said. Only evidence of its presence so far: “A marijuana candy wrapper blew up on our doorstep.”
