Burger King Releases Stoner Menu

While fast food hasn’t had much positive publicity lately, we all have to admit to eating it at one point or another. It’s just really difficult to deny a cheeseburger, you know? Most of us have seen the commercials from Jack In The Box (their food is nasty though) and Taco Bell, with late night menus that mention “munchies” but there hasn’t been a fast food chain releasing a menu specifically designed to target stoners… Until now.
Burger King announced at the beginning of November that they would be hosting a new late night menu that is specifically geared towards the pot smokers of the world. While the move is clearly profit driven, as most of these moves by big corporations are, there’s a little bit more logic too it. “We decided not to beat around the bush. If you’re out buying fast food after 1 am, you’re either drunk or stoned. With that in mind, we are unveiling our new late night menu that we are simply dubbing “Stoned Selection,” said Bill Baron, CEO of BK. “Let’s face it, we are not the first to do this. We’re just the first to be open about why we’re doing it. Taco Bell’s entire menu is aimed at pot smokers and Papa John’s new Sriracha hot sauce and Fritos Pizza screams “I’ve got the weed munchies”.”
This new menu will only include two items on it, as research done shows that any more than two items will bring the average 17 year old stoned kid to a stand still about what they want. And that definitely has some truth to it, as pulling up to a drive through when you’re baked is probably one of the most difficult things you could possibly do. The items on the menu will be something like Hot Pockets, Bagel Bites, or Ho-Hos and the drink choice? Mountain Dew, of course.
“In the test markets of Colorado and New York, our ‘Stoned Selection’ menu has been a huge success and we plan to go nationwide by the end of the year,” marketing Director Greg Hause said of the move. The menu will definitely make ordering things easier, as the two items will help. But hopefully, they put some serious stoner munchies on there, otherwise we’ll have to keep making weird stuff out of what we have in the kitchen.
