The Tennessee Pot Cave
To fall for Mary Jane means your going to fall hard.
Shes so easy to love, and its not uncommon for everyday clients to have a deep longing for her. In this particular case its about 40 feet deep and hidden underground. A Tennessee home was discovered to be the secret hide out to a huge underground marijuana grow operation. This awesome estate was coined ”The Tennessee Pot Cave”. There’s no doubt that running Mary Jane operations like this are illegal, and very illegal at that.
When Many people see vibrant green cannabis they cant help but to associate it with temping green money.
This was the case here, and a super intense plan was executed very efficiently for growing marijuana.
This was not your everyday hand built grow box in the basement, but a carefully, and accurately designed plan to make big money from selling sticky buds. There was a sealed passageway in the home that lead down 40 feet, which took you to a marijuana oasis complete with a kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. This guy was selling in style and you bet he could afford it.
Altogether this buddha business was most likely bringing in 6 to 8 million green bills per year.
This type of dough isn’t produced without plenty of product and he was said to produce 100 pounds or more each harvest. That’s a lot of weed to say the least, and you can tell there was no game playing only bud growing.
With everything functioning to the T, there was a full irrigation system set to water about 500 plants ranging in sizes of 6-12 feet, as well as another 500 plants about 6 feet tall. The underground trippy cavern was equipped with the proper climate control and lighting to accommodate such lengths. One can only imagine how much money housing something like that costs, but the mind behind the idea, Fred Strunk did.
He decided to let the community help with his Mary Jane operations and began stealing power from the county.
This devious action would eventually be the one to get him raided and shut down. The power company became privy to the changes in their spliced electricity and contacted the police. Once the investigation began it was only a matter of time before the Tennessee Pot Cave was exposed.
The entrance way from the outside of the house to the marijuana quarters was cleverly hidden under what seemed to be an ordinary over-sized rock.
Fred Strunk plead guilty in March of 2006 to growing shit loads of sweet MJ along with theft an money laundering.
Mr. Green Thumb was sentenced to 18 years for the selling of the trees and another 12 for theft. Seems like a pretty harsh punishment, but Strunk was eligible for parole after serving 5 years of his sentence.
The Pot Cave was set fire to in December of 2006 in a mysterious string of events that led to everyone believing there was more to the cave than what was released to the public. Still the monumental growing areas were still intact and in 2007 the state auctioned off the estate for $285,000.000.
This type of growing takes more than dedication, but also a serious amount of cash and an intense love for highly criminal situations.
The Tennessee Pot Cave will forever go down in history as one of the biggest cannabis growing operations, and one of the best disguised ones as well. Possibly the biggest pot bust in history.
