Sharing A Joint Could Be A Felony

Category: Culture | Posted on Mon, January, 26th 2015 by THCFinder
sharing-a-joint-would-be-a-felonyWhen you’re smoking marijuana, you never really take in to consideration what it would be considered when you pass the bong/blunt/joint/pipe to the person next to you. In your mind, you’re simply sharing a great green plant with someone who you like enough to smoke and share weed with. While you’re hanging out with your best friend or your partner and you hand them the smoking device or perhaps share a bite of an edible with them in the state of Washington, you could be looking at a felony if anyone were to find out what terrible act you just committed.

In the state of Washington, passing a smoking apparatus to someone next to you is considered felony distribution. By simply even thinking about passing the bong to even your legally married husband or wife, you could potentially be looking at up to five years in jail and about $10,000 on top of lawyer fees. You would also be disqualified from any federal programs. Not to mention, you’ll never really be able to get a good job again. Some fast food places won’t even hire you if you have a prior drug conviction, even if it was nonviolent and only involving marijuana.

Having such an odd law in the state of Washington, especially where marijuana is legal, this is a very terrible conflict of laws. Of course, we all know that the federal government doesn’t recognize the fact that some states have legalized marijuana and continued to raid dispensaries and grow ops, even after President Obama advised them to stop bothering states with working marijuana systems. With the passing of the new laws, federal governments cannot use funding to raid businesses that are involved in marijuana that are in states that have a system.

Something as simple as passing a blunt to someone you love shouldn’t be a felony. There are so many contradictory laws and regulations involving the plant. Time will tell whether these issues will get better or worse. If people aren’t allowed to pass joints to the ones they love at the risk of being thrown in jail, chances are that they will continue to buy black market cannabis because they will distrust the government’s marijuana programs.

Tips For How To Roll The Best Marijuana Joint

Category: Fun | Posted on Mon, January, 26th 2015 by THCFinder

There are many ways to roll a joint, but I have found this to be a tried and true method that seems to work every time, and leave my joints burning smooth and evenly.

Materials That you will need:
-1 gram of ground cannabis.
-1 1-1/4” Rolling Paper

In this picture, Mama Meemers uses a little bit of ground Geoffery and a RAW hemp paper to prepare a joint. I used orange zig zags for years, but prefer unbleached hemp papers, as I think they are a healthier alternative, and it’s is why we choose them over anything else.

Ok, start by grinding up your bud. I love using a coffee/herb grinder to complete this task. You can find a decent one such as the one in the picture at stores everywhere, or online for as little as $10.00. These are great, and if you breath into the lid before you grind, you can catch a lot of keif, which can be used to to sprinkle in the middle of your joint.

Once you have your herb ground up, prepare your rolling paper for insertion. Meemers here, likes to do a final inspection to make certain there are no stems or seeds. When you sprinkle the cannabis into the rolling paper, you are going to be tempted to place the majority of it in the middle, and not on the edges. This is usually what causes joints to appear pregnant, or look kind of like a whale.

What you really want to do is sprinkle some cannabis in the paper, and spread it so that it is gathered on both sides, and less in the middle. This way, as you roll, it will spread out more evenly and come out straight like a cylinder.

Begin rolling with the index finger and thumb of both hands, making sure to tuck the weed in as you roll. Once you have rolled it all the way to the edge, wet the end of the paper (we use our tongues) and seal. Next, wet your lips and insert the entire joint into your mouth being careful not to let it touch the inside of your mouth or your tongue. Then grab the end of the joint and pull it out of your mouth, allowing the saliva on your lips to gently coat the paper. Be careful not to pull the paper across dry lips, as it may tear. Once you have wet the joint, set it down and allow it to air dry for a minute or two. Often referred to as baptizing, this process allows the joint to have a more even burn and have less of a chance of running or canoeing.

Now it’s time to light up!

Joints are great. They can be shared, hidden in the brim of a hat, behind an ear, and even eaten to made disappear! Get to rolling and make some new friends. :)

Iowa Cancer Patient Dies After Conviction

Category: Culture | Posted on Mon, January, 26th 2015 by THCFinder
iowa-cancer-patient-dies-after-convictionLastJuly, there was a 49 year old man, Benton Mackenzie, who was put on trail for growing medical marijuana in order to make an oil for treatment for a rare form of cancer that he was suffering from. Both Benton and his wife were convicted of marijuana manufacturing and conspiracy. Their son Cody was convicted of drug possession. When the trial ended and the verdict came through, the family was sentenced to probation rather than prison. But even though the sentencing left the family out of jail, Benton’s health began to deteriorate after the sentencing in September.

After the conviction was made, Benton began to travel to Oregon in order to get his medical marijuana treatment. His affliction was something known as severe angiosarcoma. This rare and aggressive form of cancer produces large skin lesions. Even though Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad signed a law last year saying that marijuana CBD derived oil was legal for the use of epilepsy, Benton didn’t qualify since he suffered from cancer.

Patients such as Benton need to get access to the medicine that they need. Regular treatments sometimes just don’t cut it. For such aggressive and invasive forms of cancer such as angiosarcoma, chemo might not be an option. If medical marijuana oil works for these sick people, there is no reason as to why they shouldn’t have it. Specifically focusing on epilepsy in Iowa causes cancer patients to be cast aside, forced to treat their illness with more destructive methods like chemo. Benton’s mother, Dottie Mackenzie, told papers that Benton was “at peace” with his disease and the conviction when he died.
