Uhh, It’s Not Wise To Smoke Pot In A Police Chief’s Parking Space

Category: News | Posted on Thu, December, 21st 2017 by THCFinder

There are several unwritten rules in the Official Book of Getting Stoned in Pubic and one of them is: It’s not wise to smoke pot in a police chief’s parking space. It’s really that simple. Don’t be a raging idiot out there in the wild, wild world of purgatorial prohibition, and you’ll probably escape this life without any unwanted run-ins with the law.

But for those hardcore marijuana enthusiasts who rebel against it all, even common sense, this kind of misstep could come, at the bare minimum, with a hefty load of embarrassment and, depending on what neck of the woods you hang your hat, quite possibly even legal consequences.

We know what you’re thinking… no one in the cannabis community is stupid enough to actually smoke weed in front of a cop shop. Well, they are, and they did.

Hashish Traffic At Issue In Morocco-Algeria Tensions

Category: News | Posted on Thu, December, 21st 2017 by THCFinder

In the cold war between North African neighbors Morocco and Algeria, the latter has long used the status of the former as the world’s top cannabis producer for propaganda, painting the conservative kingdom as a drug menace to the greater region. Now the narco-baiting has exploded into a diplomatic flare-up of Morocco-Algeria tensions.

Morocco World News reports that the kingdom’s national airline, Royal Air Maroc, is preparing legal action against Algerian Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel after he publicly insinuated that the airline is smuggling hashish.

The minister blurted during a meeting with business leaders in Algiers in October: “The Royal Air Maroc carries something other than passengers, and everyone knows it.”

People Prefer Legal Weed Over Alcohol

Category: News | Posted on Wed, December, 20th 2017 by THCFinder

With an influx of legal cannabis—both medical and recreational, readily available amongst 29 states around the country—alcohol sales have taken a noticeable drop, according to a recent study.

A Changing of the Guard: People Prefer Legal Weed Over Alcohol

The report, which sought to identify the link between medical marijuana laws and alcohol consumption, studied retail sales data for beer and wine in states that recently legalized medical marijuana. The findings concluded that two years after medical marijuana had become available, retail sales in grocery, convenience, drug or mass distribution stores had fallen 13 percent. Researchers did not factor in liquor sales, however, due to the poor quality of data.

Colorado: ‘Highly Desired’ Marijuana Sales Report Now Released Monthly

Category: News | Posted on Wed, December, 20th 2017 by THCFinder

Colorado’s annual marijuana sales are on pace to reach an all-time high, according to a new monthly report published by the Colorado Department of Revenue (CDOR). Announced by the CDOR on Tuesday, Dec. 12, the Centennial State is reporting they’ve topped more than $4.2 billion in marijuana sales since 2014.

Convenient and concise, Colorado’s new monthly marijuana report delineates the state’s “gross marijuana sales minus wholesale sales.” Categorized as either recreational or medicinal, the state’s “historical” marijuana sales data will now be updated on the seventh business day of every month.

Mike Hartman, the CDOR’s executive director, explained the department’s intent in a press release.

Jeff Sessions’ Justification For A Marijuana Crackdown Is Bogus

Category: News | Posted on Wed, December, 20th 2017 by THCFinder

Jeff Sessions’ favorite song is punctuated by the drums of war. Bad news and ominous warnings of more ills to come pepper the attorney general’s speeches. Such preoccupations must certainly darken the man’s mindset. They’re definitely clouding his judgment.

In Baltimore for a speech this week, Sessions warned of a new nationwide plague of violence and lawlessness.

“Violent crime is up in many places across the country,” he said, before diving into the raw and painful numbers. From year-to-year, there’s been a 13 percent increase in Americans victimized by violent crime, like the murder and rape plaguing residents of Maryland’s biggest city.

Compound in Marijuana Appears Safe and Nonaddictive, WHO Says

Category: News | Posted on Tue, December, 19th 2017 by THCFinder

A compound in marijuana appears to be relatively safe and nonaddictive, according to a new report from the World Health Organization (WHO).

In an initial review of existing research, the WHO found that the compound, called cannabidiol or CBD, is "generally well-tolerated with a good safety profile," according to the November report. In addition, the compound appears to have "no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential," the report found.

Still, the report added that although "CBD has been found to have relatively low toxicity … not all potential effects have been explored." A more extensive review of the compound will be carried out in 2018, according to a WHO statement from Dec. 13.
