Jilly Bean Cannabis strain review with pics

Category: Nugs | Posted on Tue, February, 26th 2013 by THCFinder

Jilly Bean - Hybrid

Like the name implies, this is a sweet, fruit flavored bud that tastes like a mix of jellybeans and pineapple. The Jilly bean strain is a mostly indica variety of orange velvet crossed with space queen. Jilly bean has a dark forest green color with some red hairs and lots of sticky resin. The high from this strain is mellow, giddy, and friendly. It%u2019s good for daytime use and can be used to treat depression and chronic pain.

Strain Name: Jilly Bean

Date Acquired: January 6, 2012

Grade: A+

Type: Hybrid

Looks: Marijuana nuggets so "dusted" giving a lime green appearance with very noticeable orange/rust color "hair."

Smell: Like a bowl of assorted sugary sweet Jelly Belly's. Very candy-like and fruity, very sweet with a lingering funk.

Taste: Hints of citrus but, what always comes to mind for me is a "flat" fruit flavored carbonated beverage (i.e. Orange, Grape Crush soda).

Buzz Type: Very uplifting and slightly energetic with relaxation qualities.

Buzz Length: Above Average to Very Long (1.5 to 2+ hours)

Summary:

* Around last summer, I first heard of the Jilly Bean strain via Internet chatter. So, when I saw this strain on my collective's menu, I immediately send over a message to hold me some. I just had to see what this strain is all about and I am glad I did.

The first feature of this strain to catch my attention is its smell. Jilly Bean smells delicious. Smelling this strain, I can imagine myself walking inside the actual Jelly Belly factory in Fairfield, California (near where I used to reside). Sweet sugary tangerine and orange rind scents I pick up immediately. Very fruity and candy-like, but if leave the container open and this sweet scent does linger into a dankness of funk. Personally, I love the smell of this strain.

The Jilly Bean nuggets I received were just coated in trichomes. The ever twisting "orange/rust" colored hair gives the appearance these marijuana nuggets are tired up in rope. A little spicy and peppery on the inhale, I did cough a few times with this strain with larger than "normal" bonghits. After being hit with all these great senses, I will say I was a little disappointed in the taste. Was hoping the taste would match its scent and appearance, but the it was not as flavorful as expected when first hit with a scent that may make you want to eat vs. smoke this strain. More of a "flat" taste, it is still palatable and excellent, but the smell does give a first timer the expectation of something much more "tasty."

Jilly Bean provided me with a nice uplifting buzz, but that was also very "chill." The Sativa qualities of this strain did not have me bouncing off the walls or my mind racing. I was actually very relaxed with this strain with some good solid focus. Thus, Jilly Bean became my "go to" daytime strain when on hand. I enjoyed medicating with this strain most right after my morning gym workouts. It got me relaxed, focused, and eased some pain where I was very functional and very efficient on the job. A nice balance of medicine for a Hybrid strain that was also nice for relaxing during the evening when I did not have the desire to get "hit" heavy with harder Indica OG strains.

Jilly Bean also had some good "legs!" I using this strain right after I cycled off with concentrates, a typical bowl would run 1.5 hours. If a day (or two) passed with no concentrate use, Jilly Bean consistently hit around the 2 hour mark with many times surpassing that.

Overall for me, Jilly Bean is top choice for a daytime strain to medicate with! This is one marijuana strain I would refill with again. A solid A+ strain despite feeling tricked on taste.

Cheers (& Cough),

Pineapple Express strain review with pictures

Category: Nugs | Posted on Mon, February, 25th 2013 by THCFinder

Pineapplex Express - Hybrid

Descendant of Californias Pineapple, this strain is so good it has a movie named after it. This superbud tastes of pineapple, pine, and cedar. It is a hard hitting Sativa with a very energetic high that has a subtle citrus overtone.

Strain Name: Pineapple Express

Date Acquired: October 2, 2011

Grade: B+

Type: Sativa

Looks: Well cured super triched out mustard yellow marijuana nuggets that weighed like Styrofoam popcorn.

Smell: Much more "dank" versus "sweet." A considerable "funk" scent with some citrus overtones.

Taste: A strong dank inhale with a hint of pineapple on the exhale that lingers shortly on the after taste.

Buzz Type: Heavy head buzz, energetic, focus.

Buzz Length: Average to Above Average (1 to 1.5 Hours)

Summary:

* Interesting... I've been fortunate to "have" Pineapple Express before, but this has to be the "dankest" version of this strain I've ever had. I did not get that solid pineapple taste that "wowed" me with this strain when I was able to obtain it in the past. This has a very strong scent too. An open container will leave the area smelly with a strong lingering "dank" scent.

The buzz for me was mostly heavy head tingle with the tingle felt mostly right in the back of the eye area and tip of the nose. I had a feeling as if it felt as if there as a "haze" covering my eyes. Somewhat of a dry eye effect causing a bit red "itchiness."

This version of Pineapple Express was mostly hit me in the cerebral region with the medication slightly felt through out the rest of my body. The heaviness provided a "harder" come down as usual with Sativa strains as a few times when coming off the buzz, I was very lethargic and sleepy.

This batch was not as tasty, but was more "stoney." They key negative for me and ailments is consistently it just falls short on legs. It's somewhat like a bell curve or roller coaster for me. I shoot up real fast, but staying up there is about 30-40 minutes max with a serious crashing come down. Thus, if this is my only Sativa strain on hand during the day, reloads would be much more as compared to other flower varieties such as Super Silver Haze and Green Crack.

Overall, Pineapple Express is not a bad strain, but not a really great strain. I'd consider it a benchmark strain and one worthy of having at least once since it was made so popular by pop culture. Then again, maybe it's due to this strain's reference so often in pop culture that I have such high expectations for it.

Cheers (& Cough),

Skywalker Og strain review with photos

Category: Nugs | Posted on Sun, February, 24th 2013 by THCFinder

Skywalker OG - Sativa

Skywalker is a hybrid product of the blueberry and mazar strains. This Indica dominant strain is known to provide above average pain relief, headache management, appetite stimulation and heavy sedation. The skywalker strain is sticky and mildly fragrant with fruity undertones and a flowery scent similar to other indicas. The effects are immediate and last up to two hours.

Strain Name: Skywalker OG

Date Acquired: July 30, 2011

Grade: A++

Type: Indica

Looks: Mostly small, tight deep green conical shaped nugs with a crusted layer trichs.

Smell: A very earthy and "sharp" dank pine smell with hints of lemon and fuel.

Taste: Very similar to the smell. Very earthy with some lemony highlights, but mostly pure dank, smooth "earthy" smoke.

Buzz Type: Extremely heavy head buzz. Eyes felt like they were sinking further back into my head. Pressure all around the head. Excellent pain and stress relief!

Buzz Length: Long to Very Long (2+ hours)

Summary:

* I always crack a grin when I see Skywalker OG on the menu. Having it several times, it has become a favorite strain of mine. But, it's been a few months since I have medicated with Luke himself. Actually, the last time I had it was December 2010.

So, on my very first bowl from my refill, it was HEAVY! It put me straight to bed. I am usually up until 1:00 - 2:00am. The first night medicating with Skywalker OG, I found myself crawling to bed before 10:00pm. That is EARLY for me. But a full shutdown and long good night's sleep is just what my body needed.

Skywalker OG is a heavy Indica strain consistently couch locking me during evening and late night sessions. I did a Sunday morning "wake and bake" session and this strain basically put me in a lazy, "whatever" kind of mood. I had a stress free Sunday which was very pleasant.

Skywalker OG is a very smooth smoking strain for how heavy it hits you. I was able to take nice smooth rips and for those times I needed a little extra, I was also able to take deep hits with very little "cough" factor. This strain is stoney and bit euphoric too. I felt a bit "drunk" like a few times as it felt as if I was swaying when walking.

This strain's biggest benefit for me is the pain relieving qualities on top of releasing stress. When in some serious pain, a strain like Skywalker OG is one I want to have on hand. A bowl of this does me just as good as a Vicodin or "narcotic" pain pill.

During my last marijuana nugget of Skywalker OG, I actually medicated after doing a 7:00am 5K morning jog. Taking a week off from the gym, I decided to jog 5Ks for that same week. The first day, I was in tremendous knee and neck/upper back pain (it's been half a year since I jogged outside so, got to work up those "running muscles" again) and bowl of Skywalker OG light sabered that pain away. Being this was in the morning, I was a bit groggy. But, my pain was gone and since I had a good amount of morning caffeine in my system (~200mg), I was "slow" but, not couched.

I have never had a bad bowl or batch of Skywalker OG regardless of what collective I've obtained it from. It is just an overall solid strain that performs time after time again.

I love feelin' that force... probably why Skywalker OG is one top favorite OG's!

Cheers (& Cough),
