Liquid Butter OG strain review with pics

Liquid Butter OG - Indica

* Liquid Butter was the first strain to "WOW" me over several years back in 2009. I first medicated with Liquid Butter OG Kush back in December 2009. Just as I was about to publish this piece, I took a look at my old notes. Given the similarities, I thought it be interesting to also include what I documented in 2009; providing a comparison of the same strain from two different years and of course batches, December 2009 and July 2011. I also vaped this batch of Liquid Butter OG and included notes regarding the vape as well!

Strain Name:  Liquid Butter OG

Date Acquired:  July 11 and 22, 2011

Grade:  A++

(OLD:  A+)

Type:  Indica

Looks:  Medium sized super sticky nugs covered in trichs with noticeable "mustard" colored hair along with patches of deep green color. Each nug appeared to look like little "balls" forming a "cone" shape.

(OLD:  Tight buds covered in frosted sticky white trichs)

Smell:  uttered greens. Pine needles and crisp "blue" mint that leaves behind a rich dank lingering smell on exhale.

(OLD:  Hints of pine, mint, and citrus.)

Taste:  Smooth hints of theater popcorn butter, but not as overpowering as my initial 2009 fill. A salty, buttery after taste is noticeable in the corner of my lips and tip of tongue.

(OLD: Just like creamy butter.)

Buzz Type:  Heavy! Full head and body high. Couch lock. Excellent pain relief and "shut down" medicine.

(OLD: Heavy and full body. It hits you very quick behind the eyes... this one is not a creeper. I literally feels like I am sinking into my chair but, I am fully aware of what's going on. Just about every ache and muscle pain I have is gone. This is some good chill out MMJ. The butter just melts the pain away).

Buzz Length:  Long to Very Long (2+ hours)

(OLD:  Typical 1 - 2 hours depending on method/amount used.)

* When seeing the words; "Liquid Butter," some might think this is a Cannabutter. If that's what you thought, no worries because this FLOWER is FIRE!
I felt like a kid in a candy store when I got home with this strain and could not wait to get into it. My very session with this strain was at 11:00pm. I finished the bowl, sat back and closed my eyes what I thought was for a few seconds. When I opened my eyes, it was 3:30am! The first bowl literally took me out. A few times I used Liquid Butter right after work, I found myself melting in the couch or in my chair at the dinner table.
This batch of Liquid Butter was super sticky! At first, I had to "hit" my bowls rather "lightly." A few hard bong hits had me coughing up a lung, scratching up my throat. Good news is I always keep Canni Soothes on hand for this exact purpose. But after a days, the strain "softened" up a bit, but really as hard as it hit me, there is no need to take really big bong hits of this strain. A little, one-hit bowl will go a long way. A little amount hit me quite heavy. Average couch lock sessions were 3-4 hours.
I tend to be a night owl, not sleeping much although my body requires and sometimes demand it. If required to be sleep by midnight, Liquid Butter comes to the call.
Liquid Butter OG is the strain that will actually make you look "stoned!" A hard hitting and heavy strain that I used "AT HOME ONLY." DO NOT get behind the wheel with this one. Just trust me ;-)
(OLD: If you can, you must try this! Apparently, this stuff is cured in a Chinese clay pot for a month. What a properly named strained. Within minutes after taking a bong rip, I kept licking my lips. No joke... this stuff tastes just like butter! Aside from taking more rips to get more of that butter flavor, all I could think about is popcorn I used to get as a kid at the movies. I would never imaged marijuana getting to a level like this. As a side note, I topped this with some Master Kush kief. I have a very high tolerance. The added kief I use ONLY if I need to get to sleep quick. Otherwise, the Liquid Butter by itself is 100% fine since it does not couch lock me and so far this is the only strain that takes away pain but, does not put me to sleep... and that butter taste can be addictive too. )
The batch of Liquid Butter OG that I had today is almost identical to the batch I had over 2 year ago. There was really only one major difference. This batch hit a whole lot harder. Not only did this batch of Liquid Butter hit harder, but apparently previous batches (I did not have) are said to be even better than this! Liquid Butter is not a strain I see everywhere. In fact, I've never came across it my "active" collectives and as stated in the Preface, recalling the tastiness of this strain when seeing it at JLS is the primary reason why I joined their collective. Definitely a big improvement with this strain over the years (and back then it was good too!).
Another, "IF YOU SEE IT... GET IT!" strain.
Vape Notes:
The very first vape draw I did was not a good experience. Vape was a bit harsh and I actually coughed. Taste was more of a "vegetables with dab of butter mix in" vs. that more noticeable "butter" aspect in the bong. I did catch a slight buttery after taste on the roof of my mouth on a few vapes, but Liquid Butter is strain you also want to get for taste which was just not fully there in the vape. I had smoother and tastier bong hits with Liquid Butter OG.
Aside from the taste and harshness, vaping Liquid Butter did provide great pain relief benefits without the typical head heavy to couch lock effect. I could definitely use this strain in the vape when serious pain relief is needed in the daytime. Also, a vape fill provided me with many vape draws. Just like with bong, a little ground up Liquid Butter in the vape will go a long way too.
Cheers (& Cough),

GSC - Girl Scout Cookies strain review with pics

Category: Nugs | Posted on Sun, February, 17th 2013 by THCFinder

GSC - Girl Scout Cookies - Hybrid

If you live in the Bay Area, you've likely heard of Girl Scout Cookies. Whether it's from one of the songs by the famous San Francisco rapper, Berner or actually trying it yourself, Girl Scout Cookies is a can't-miss strain that will medicate you beyond your wildest dreams. A potent mix of an OG Kush x Durban Poison x Cherry Kush mother backcrossed with a prime-looking OG Kush father created possibly one of the best Northern California strains of all time. For those of you who are into the Bay Area rap scene, you%u2019ve likely already smoked some of this off-the-charts weed after hearing some of the songs by San Francisco rapper and collective owner, Berner

Strain Name:  Girl Scout Cookies, "Original Thin Mints" (THE ORIGINAL CUT)

Date Acquired:  December 18, 2011

Grade:  A++

Type:  Hybrid (Indica Dominant)

Looks:  Frost covered tight and very light weight marijuana nuggets with areas of deep "dark" spotting encased in orange/rust colored hair.

Smell:  A slight hint of pepper with a sweet evergreen funk hitting over the top clearing out the nostrils. Smell can be describe as "minty," but I had to really "detect" it.

Taste:  A light, but sweet evergreen/spearmint fruit enhanced flavor with a bit of sweet tea leaf after taste.

Buzz Type:  A combination of heady and heaviness providing some solid focus and spatial awareness along with good pain management and relaxation.

Buzz Length:  Long to Very Long (2 to 2+ hours)

*  Girl Scout Cookies, "Original Thin Mints" somewhat threw me for a loop when I first started medicating with it. On my very first bowl, my first thought was; "YES! A Sativa that's straight up FIRE!" Fact is, Girl Scout Cookies, "Original Thin Mints" (GSC-OTM) is an Indica dominant hybrid strain that was mostly heavy, but also quite heady; headier than most hybrids I've medicated with going as far back as I can remember. That initial shot of Sativa like headiness stuck with me on the first bowl for a good while until the more dominant heavy and relaxing Indica qualities take over.

While feeling "up," GSC-OTM provided me some intense focus and clarity. I was able to get of work done in a short amount of time. I was able to work quite fast. When the heaviness builds up, it feels like someone is taking three of their fingers and pressing against the inside corners of my eyes and bridge of nose. The relief I felt around my eyes was awesome. Very similar to most Kush varieties I've medicated with, but with a little added euphoric feeling.

GSC-OTM has a nice initial scent, but the lingering scent can get funky from broken up marijuana nuggets. I found I had to light candles and use spray; not from smoking inside my house, but from after snipping a marijuana nugget. The lingering scent is STRONGER.    My wife commented on that several times and although I do not smoke flowers inside my home, I might as well given this flowers lingering smell; which I actually like, but is very noticeable to the "non-user."

The majority of the time, GSC-OTM did not couch lock me, but the overall buzz effect could be a bit to heavy for some for day use and this buzz is long; with a typical full bowl consistently hitting the 2+ hour mark with me. Knowing that my overall tolerance could be higher due to more concentrate use, having this long buzz term meant a longer duration of use before depleting supply (a good thing).  With GSC-OTM, a little goes a long way.

The heaviness of GSC-OTM provided me with great pain relief. I've even made note where my head was pounding me one day from limited sleep and after a bowl of GSC-OTM, I was feeling fine. I really like how this strain was mellowing and relaxing while attacking pain while still providing mental awareness. I enjoyed many "happy hours" while medicated with this strain.

When medicating heavy (multiple bowls in a short time span), the come down is noticeable "harder." This is when I get hit with watery eyes and the case of the yawns.   A heavier "come down" made me a bit lethargic.

Crafted in Northern California, I was very happy to get this strain knowing I recieved the original directly from SAN FRANCISO.  An interesting name for a marijuana strain, sometimes I sit back and wonder how it was named. Is it because the dark spotting makes some marijuana nuggets look like green chocolate chip cookies under the camera? Is it because it crumbles like cookie crumbs when breaking up the marijuana nuggets? When breaking off into little "crumbs," GSC-OTM also burns like a Kingsford charcoal; to a flaky white.

Girl Scout Cookies, "Original Thin Mints," has been hyped up quite a bit through the Internet and Pop Culture.  But this is one strain that DOES live up the hype.   Straight FIRE and my first IE420 "Certified Fire" strain of 2012!   There are several variations this "Cookie" strain and do hope I am fortunate enough to come across ALL of them!

Cheers (& Cough),

Super Silver Haze strain review with photos

Category: Nugs | Posted on Sat, February, 16th 2013 by THCFinder

Super Silver Haze - Sativa

Super Silver Haze was the first prize winner at the High Times Cannabis Cup in 1997, 1998 and 1999 and also won awards at the High Times harvest festival. This sticky sativa will leave you with a great energetic body high. Genetics: Skunk x Northern Lights x Haze.

Strain Name:  Super Silver Haze

Date Acquired:  September 3, 2011

Grade:  A

Type:  Sativa

Looks:  Very dense orange haired and trich crystallized lime green marijuana nuggets. Looks like many micro-marijuana nuggets compressed together. Some marijuana nuggets had dark areas of "spotting." crystallized trichs gave the marijuana nuggets a florescent hue.

Smell:  Sweet... very sugary. A red/white peppermint candy dropped in a cup of black tea.

Taste:  Sweet Indian spices and tropical fruit candy like Skittles.

Buzz Type:  Full body buzz and head tingle.

Buzz Length:  Above Average (1.5 hours)

*  Super Silver Haze provides the kind of buzz I "expect" when medicating with a Sativa. A nice full body buzz that kind of creeps up on you and before you know it, you are state in "tingle" with eyes feeling heavy and red. This is the kind of strain where carrying eye drops and wearing sunglasses is a must. I have the "appearance" of the typical "stoner" when medicating with this strain!

I dig the smell and taste of this strain. Big rips can be a bit spicy, but when I load the bowl "right," the rips are very fruity and flavorful.

Being a tingle filled Sativa sensation, Super Silver Haze was a great daytime strain for me. Despite having the feeling of heavy eyes, I was very alert getting and tackling my daily work tasks and requirements.

Overall, a very pleasant strain and a nice strain for those who find Sativa strains like Green Crack to "strong."  Wished it had a bit legs on the buzz as I was consistently re-loading every hour and half when solely medicating with Super Silver Haze.
