Craigslist: 'Marijuana free to good home'

Category: Odd | Posted on Tue, January, 10th 2012 by THCFinder

Extremely lame sting operation or someone trying to have a little fun with people on Craigslist?

A unique posting on had several viewers call the WECT newsroom Tuesday morning.  Someone claims to be giving away free marijuana plants.
According to the post, the person with the plants is moving out of the state and can't take them along.
"Free marijuana plants to good home," the post reads.
An address and phone number are provided, though the phone number appears to be linked to the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office said they have nothing to do with the post.

NORML Owes The Medical Marijuana Community An Apology

Category: Odd | Posted on Mon, January, 9th 2012 by THCFinder
Steve Elliott- NORML Executive Director Allen St. Pierre has called the medical marijuana industry a "legal farce" and "largely a sham" in an article which hit the web yesterday, creating a backlash among NORML's many supporters (quite a few of whom likely just became former supporters) in the medicinal cannabis industry.
How many times must we repeat this? Attacking medical marijuana is not a good legalization strategy.
The sadly predictable outcome is that for the next umpteen years, every single time a medical cannabis initiative is raised in any state, the opposition are going to drag out St. Pierre's ill-considered words as ammunition. "Why are you sitting there trying to tell us this state needs a medical marijuana law when NORML itself has admitted medical marijuana is a fraud and a sham?"
The piece, published by Steve Bloom on CelebStoner (according to NORML's "Radical" Russ Belville, from private listserv emails sent last October, and without St. Pierre's permission), is really unfortunate, and is a huge, huge blunder on NORML's part. The pity of it is, it's not just NORML that's going to have to pay for St. Pierre's mistake -- it's the medical cannabis community which he apparently so disdains.

It Turns Out That Smoking Marijuana May Actually Make You A Safer Driver

Category: Odd | Posted on Mon, December, 19th 2011 by THCFinder
Regardless of what this study may show, it's probably in your best interest to NOT drive under the influence of anything!
An amazing study authored by professors D. Mark Anderson (University of Montana) and Daniel Rees (University of Colorado) shows that traffic deaths have been reduced in states where medical marijuana is legalized.
According to their findings, the use of medical marijuana has caused traffic related fatalities to fall by nearly nine percent in states that have legalized medical marijuana (via The Truth About Cars).
The study notes that this is equal to the effect raising the drinking age to 21 had on reducing traffic fatalities.
One key factor is the reduction in alcohol consumption. The study finds that there is a direct correlation between the use of marijuana and a reduction in beer sales, especially in the younger folks aged 20-29.
A drop in beer sales supports the theory that marijuana can act as a substitute for liquor.
The study also finds that marijuana has the inverse effect that alcohol does on drivers. Drivers under the influence of alcohol tend to make rash decisions and risky moves, whereas those under the influence of marijuana tend to slow down, make safer choices, and increase following distances

Marijuana Halloween Candy to be Given Away to Grateful Partygoers This Weekend: Best Warning Ever

Category: Odd | Posted on Fri, October, 28th 2011 by THCFinder

Once again the cops overeact and try to continue the Marijuana is so evil routine.

You have to love the folks at the L.A. County Sheriff's Department for being sincere in their concern for your safety.
But really now, holding a press conference to tell people to beware of marijuana-laced candy?
In L.A. that's only going to make people want to trick-or-treat more.
As in (Adam Sandler voice): I'm Stoner Man. Give me some candy! Still, we must think of the children:
Alarmed by the packaging they've seen on marijuana treats seized during dispensary busts in the last year, sheriff's officials want parents to be extra cautious when sorting through this year's trick-or-treat loot.

Cops Accused Of Eating Man's Pot Brownies, Bragging About It

Category: Odd | Posted on Tue, September, 27th 2011 by THCFinder

Proving that cops love to get baked just like we do, some dumb ass cops decided to steal some pot brownies and grub them down and still arrest the guy they found them on.

Two Houston police officers could be asking "dude, where's my credibility?" after a suspect accused them of eating his pot brownies.
Nicholas Hill, 19, claims that Houston cops took his brownies, that they knew were laced with marijuana, and munched away after arresting the teen for pot possession.
ABC 13 found something more substantial than just Hill's claim. The station reports that it has obtained messages typed by the officers on their in-car computers after confiscating and consuming the baked goods.
"So HIGH... Good munchies," one officer supposedly wrote. "Everything should be open when we get done," the other responded.
One of Hill's defense attorneys, Daniel Cahill, told The Huffington Post that, if his client's accusations prove to be true, they could have very serious consequences.
"If what is alleged is true then it really calls into question everything that went on that day," Cahill said. "If we have police destroying evidence or maybe not following the rules that they need to be following, that brings into question the integrity of the system and everything these guys have done, possibly."
