Study Says Medical Marijuana States Have Fewer Traffic Fatalities than Those Without

Category: Tokers | Posted on Sat, December, 24th 2016 by THCFinder

One would think car crash rates would be higher, especially among younger drivers, in states where people are smoking more pot. But researchers at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health found an 11 percent reduction in traffic fatalities on average in medical-marijuana states.

The study also found the presence of medical-marijuana dispensaries correlated with fewer traffic fatalities.

Dr. Silvia Martins, faculty member in the Epidemiology Department at Columbia’s Mailman School of Public Health and the study’s senior author, theorized that lower traffic fatality rates in legal pot states might be related to reduced levels of drunk driving, as young people substitute weed for booze.

“We found evidence that states with the marijuana laws in place compared with those which did not, reported, on average, lower rates of drivers endorsing driving after having too many drinks,” Martins said in a written statement, reported the Washington Post.

Craigslist is a Great Place To Buy Marijuana

Category: Tokers | Posted on Tue, December, 13th 2016 by THCFinder

Buying weed online is a cherished tradition as old as the internet itself. Before Silk Road and bitcoin, there was searching Craigslist for “420” and nervously arranging a furtive meet with someone you hoped wasn’t a police officer. It was sketchy—somehow even sketchier than wandering around and looking for shoes hanging from overhead wires—but trust us, it worked… to a degree. What a seedy bag that was.

These days, of course, cannabis is legal in places like Oregon, where anyone aged 21 or over can buy recreational marijuana in a licensed store—but why bother with all that when you still have Craigslist?

As the Statesman-Journal discovered, legalization has meant boom times for the online marijuana marketplace. On Craigslist, the Portland, Oregon-area offerings include a $20 jar of butter and a $300,000 investment opportunity in a soon-to-be-licensed grow.

Why Growing Your Own Cannabis Makes it Taste, Smell and Feel Better

Category: Tokers | Posted on Tue, November, 22nd 2016 by THCFinder

If you are anything like me, you barely have the time to make your own dinner, let alone tackle all of the DIY projects you’ve wanted to do for years.

But when it comes to growing my own cannabis, I make the time. And if you live in one of the many states like OregonColoradoAlaskaCaliforniaNevadaMassachusetts, and Maine, where personal cannabis cultivation is now

Why? Well, outside of the fact that it saves me money and I know exactly how it was grown, the cannabis that I grow tastes, smells, and feels better than anything I can get at my local dispensary.

Category: Tokers | Posted on Sat, November, 5th 2016 by THCFinder

Cannabis users have been claiming “yes” for ages, but the naysayers still run rampant. A recent article from Psychedelic Times digs into this continuous debate.

It turns out that THC can stimulate creativity, however, this effect depends on several already existing factors, like the already natural creativity level existing in the individual and and the dosage that they take.

If you want to dive into the nitty-gritty details, we recommending checking out Psychedelic Times’ following article:

High Standards and Craft Process: Dab Society’s Cotton Candy

Category: Tokers | Posted on Thu, September, 29th 2016 by THCFinder

For your Shatterday, we have a concentrate review of one of the finest in the Pacific Northwest, in my opinion.

Here in Oregon, Dab Society Extracts is certainly a name that turns heads when the concentrate conversation arises in both industry and consumer circles. The company launched in 2014 and has been committed to the highest standards while embracing a fine craft approach to everything they do, earning them the first processor license in the state. Dab Society utilizes BHO processing because they feel it preserves terpene flavor profiles the best.

181 Oregon Dispensaries in 90 Days: Meet Ralph

Category: Tokers | Posted on Mon, September, 26th 2016 by THCFinder

I had the pleasure of meeting Ralph, or Dad Ralph or Ralph Red Hat to some, a few weeks ago at a party that Serra Cannabis had in Portland. In discussing all things cannabis at the event, I learned that Ralph had visited all of Portland’s 181 dispensaries, or “pot shops” as Ralph affectionately calls them, over the summer.

“I got tired of walking to the downtown shops and heard there were 125 in the whole city. I checked the Oregon Government website and found that there were actually 181 and knew I had to see them all,” Ralph explained to me.

Ralph started his search through Leafly and began his journey with the Ganjacon event in Portland in June of 2016.
