About Us

Currenly we are involved in a monthly food drive for Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes. We started the food drive November 2011. Our 'ultimate' goal is to drop off 10,000 pounds of food. As of June 2008 we have dropped off over 5,000 pounds (That's 2 1/2 TONS of food!!!). With schools letting out this food drive becomes even more important as many families depend on them school lunches to provide a meal for their children. Please stop by and drop off a generous donation soon as every little bit turns into a lot!

In the month of April we raised over $2700 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association through their "Lock-up for Good" charity event. We were the largest donation raiser in the Kalamazoo area.

In the month of June The Med Joint Community Compassion Center donated $200 to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Kalamazoo (Event June9th-10th)

In the month of April The Med Joint Community Compassion Center donated $500 to the Community AIDS Resource and Education Services (CARES). This event allowed 20+ Kalamazoo area restaurants to give at least 25% of their receipt sales to CARES. Other sponsors included Targowski and Grow, Michigan Holistic Health, Pfizer, Kalamazoo Gazette and Bronson Hospital.

We are consistantly involved in community involvment. If you would like to know how YOU can join us in helping in so many way then please just ask!

A FEW SIMPLE RULES

Good Neighbors

The Med Joint Communtiy Compassion Center shares this neighborhood with residents and businesses. We have worked hard to establish a positive relationship with our neighbors. The most likely cause for trouble is complaints by neighbors regarding our operations. Please be respectful of their rights, privacy, and property.

Remember, not everyone shares our views about medical marijuana.You should be very careful not to park in driveways or in illegal spaces. Ask our staff for help with parking!We have promised our neighbors that there will be no loitering or nuisance behavior near our building. Help us keep this commitment by not lingering in the neighborhood or on the sidewalk. Always be courteous to those who live and work nearby.

We want you to feel safe at The Med Joint. Please ask us if you need an escort to your car. Let us know if you see any suspicious behavior in the neighborhood. These simple precautions will keep The Med Joint operating smoothly and without legal interference. This will ensure that we are here to serve you for years to come.

Facility Guidelines and Rules These guidelines are designed to facilitate a safe and enjoyable atmosphere. It is very important that we follow these guidelines so that we can continue to operate for years to come. Membership can be revoked for violation of any of these guidelines.

You must show your medical cannabis recommendation or state issued medical cannabis ID card to the security guard and the receptionist when you enter the facility. You may never sell or otherwise distribute the medication you obtain at The Med Joint. It is illegal and you will be permanently excluded from membership if you do so. You must be at least eighteen (18) years old and have a state issued ID to enter the building. Parents or court-appointed legal guardians must act as caregivers to obtain services on behalf of legally qualified patients who are younger than eighteen years old. You should treat everyone in the building with respect. You will be asked to leave if you use offensive or abusive language or behavior. No cell phones in the dispensing area. You may not smoke at The Med Joint. Never consume medication in the neighborhood or in your car. Absolutely no alcohol, hard drugs, or weapons are allowed in the building. Any member who commits or threatens an act of violence will be excluded from membership and may be subject to criminal prosecution. Be friendly to our neighbors! And please, do not litter. Only park in legal parking spaces and do not block driveways. You will be ticketed by the county of Kalamazoo. For your safety, place all medication and plants out of sight before leaving the building. In the event of an emergency, please follow the instructions of the staff.
