Strain Name: Louis XIII
Date Acquired: September 3, 2011
Grade: A++
Type: Indica
Looks: Very dense orange haired and trich crystallized lime green marijuana nuggets. Looks like many micro-marijuana nuggets compressed together. Some marijuana nuggets had dark areas of "spotting." crystallized trichs gave the marijuana nuggets a florescent hue.
Smell: Like walking at sunrise in a morning dew filled forest. A light hint of "earth;" the morning soil/grass.
Taste: Very smooth smoking with a slight hint of "dirty lemon" on the back end of big exhales. A bit of a woodsy after taste. Larger rips became more "richer" over time causing a more tar like taste leading to coughs.
Buzz Type: A very heavy head high. Extreme head pressure. Couch lock. Excellent pain relief management.
Buzz Length: Long to Very Long (2+ hours or until Couch Lock)
Summary:
* This was a wicked batch of Louis XIII. Like Presidential OG, Louis XIII; overall, is very smooth smoking. I was able to inhale "normal" bong hits with very minimal "cough" effects with very smooth smoke going in/out the lungs with the majority of bowls. For much of my use, I did not cough with full bowl rips. One of the smoothest inhaling OG's I have in quite some time at the start of the batch. But, the longer I stored this strain in an air-tight jar, it cured even more to a stronger smoke.
Within 15 to 20 minutes, you can feel this strain try to take you down! My head felt almost as if it wanted to "spin" - almost a feeling a dizziness, but not quite. Eyes got real "low" with a case of yawns most of the time (half a bowl was good for me many times). I found myself closing my eyes and day dreaming to the point of couch lock a few late night sessions. Louis XIII always had me "sinking" in my office chair - literally sliding down (off).
Louis XIII provided me with excellent pain relief and this was a "need to get to sleep ASAP" strain. When I needed something hard and heavy to knock me out I reached for Louis XIII. I always medicated with this strain from half a bowl up to a couple bowls just before bed when needed to get to sleep quickly.
I always made it a point to get ready for bed right after finishing my first bowl of this strain at night. The serious head pressure as if someone is pressing down on the top of your head made it very hard to stay up late night. Louis XIII went right past relaxation straight to couch lock. Looking in a mirror while medicated, revealed a "stoned" looking face. This is to heavy of a strain for daytime use; especially if working or have responsibilities to take care of/do.
If not taken to the point of couch lock, I did get some serious dry mouth as well as I had an increase in thirst. No so much a "munchie" attack, but I did drink more than usual.
I've had a few varieties of Louis XIII, but this is "version/batch" is by far the best I had. Many times half a bowl is all I needed. This one was straight FIRE!
Cheers (& Cough),
