Strain Name: Venom OG
From: Greener Pastures Collective
Date Acquired: August 28, 2011
Grade: A
Type: Hybrid
Looks: Deep green and purple/black marijuana nuggets encased in cobwebs of orange hair and covered with powdery trichs.
Smell: Nutmeg, leather, and lemon furniture polish.
Taste: A danky rich grape pixy stick powder like flavor; very rich and fruity. Even hints of "red meat." Also tasted a bit of sour lemon which was very prevalent just immediately after a big exhale.
Buzz Type: Gave me a major head buzz with noticeable forehead pressure. Starts of very energetic (a full body tingle) then balances out with heavy pressure felt behind the eyes with body relaxation.
Buzz Length: Above Average to Long (1.5 to 2 hours)
Summary:
* Listed as a Hybrid, this strain was quite interesting as it starts off very "Sativa-like;" mellowing out to a more "Indica-like" buzz/high. When the medication first took effect, it felt like thousands of ants were crawling on my skin. I was initially "hit" with some extreme body tingle. It also felt like I had in increase in body temperature ("inside" of me was feeling very warm).
Once the Sativa side of this buzz subsided, I felt a heaviness behind the eyes (very similiar to what I feel with Kush strains). This was coupled with some head pressure as the buzz definitely did somewhat of a "180" given me a feeling of relaxation (more of a melting sensation vs. tingly ants).
I did medicate with Venom OG during the day. The tingle surge I felt at the beginning is like a shock to my system getting me up and going as after my morning gym sessions, I don't have much time to rest as it is usually straight to work right after the gym. So when going hard at the gym; ending a session tired and sore, Venom OG was able to keep me going because I was energized and the "pressure" around my head that was also felt though my entire body put my pain in check allowing to me to transition from "play" to "work" without much delay as I am always under the clock getting to my work (job) after my workout (gym). But, despite using this strain during the day, I did have to be aware and careful. Venom OG got me "hard" once after a workout where I ended up nodding off at my desk while working. So for day use, I had to medicate at home only; staying indoors making sure I had no outside errands to perform.
A "fun" side of Venom OG was the taste profile for me. This strain was very "tasty." My tongue's palette was provided with a variety of "flavors" bonghit after bonghit.
Overall, I'd say Venom OG would lean slightly to the Sativa side in regard to dominance although some may find it may hit them more Indica heavy.
Cheers (& Cough),
